A Message to Parents from Grand Master In Kee Hong

One of the best gifts for children is the opportunity to possess the powers which lead to a successful life.

What are these powers? Patience, concentration, humility, self-discipline, self-control, self-confidence, and a strong healthy body with good coordination. Tang Soo Do is unique in athletics, not just being a "self-defense" form, but because it is a total learning and improvement style activity.
Children learning Tang Soo Do begin by practicing the basic skills which are the foundation of the sport. These skills improve and build coordination and balance. The children are always active in their sport as they progress, instead of just "warming the bench."
Our family atmosphere and our emphasis on strong positive values is enjoyed by all our students and their families. It is strongly recommended that children from age 4 and up be enrolled in karate.

Karate classes offer education for children and teenagers that will undoubtedly improve their performance in school as well as their personal life. Through the training they will receive, the students develop a heightened sense of self esteem and accomplishment. They will learn respect for themselves resulting in respect for their parents and other elders. In addition, it is our goal to impress upon our students the following seven traits:

  1. Honesty
  2. Modesty
  3. Courtesy
  4. Integrity
  5. Perseverance
  6. Courage

I would be honored to be entrusted with your children. My focus is to instill in all my students self-confidence, self-discipline and self defense skills which will remain ingrained in them for the rest of their lives and help them achieve success on whatever path they choose in life.
